These one-day workshops facilitated by Kitty Hagenbach and Helen Biscoe-Taylor focus on your child’s needs and the experience of parenting. We've set up babiesgrow in response to huge demand from babiesknow graduates.
Our aim is that you leave a babiesgrow workshop with a better understanding of how your child grows and greater confidence and ease in your ability to parent your unique child well.
Module One(birth - one year)
On Module One we support you in your transition into parenthood.
We look at stage-by-stage growth, and age-appropriate expectations, what your baby needs from you and how you can enjoy a smooth and enjoyable journey. In true babiesknow style we respond to your needs, questions and concerns. And we'll make sure we explore sleeping and eating, as well as communication between you and your baby, and within your adult partnership, and/or with other adults who share the care of your baby. We will discuss what infant-led parenting means and dismiss the myth that if you meet your baby’s needs you are making ‘a rod for your own back’. In fact the opposite will be true.
Module Two (one - three years)
On Module Two we focus on the rapid growth of your baby who becomes mobile, more verbal, develops his or her will and tests your boundaries.
The topics covered will be underpinned by up-to-date child developmental theory. They will include age appropriate boundaries, weaning, sleeping, toilet training, play and learning, and returning to work. Babiesgrow encourages you to embrace the wonderment of this stage, which is unfortunately described as the 'terrible twos' by many.
