I was interested in ‘nursing and caring’ as a toddler and the interest remained and became more defined. I am curious about the human experience, the way of the Tao and my flow through life. Having my own children was a critical point in my life, as it became an imperative for me to integrate the very strong feelings I had about the way I wished to care for them with current methods of parenting and with my own ancestral patterning. It has not always been easy but I know that I am less cluttered with other people’s ideas now and closer to the trail that feels right for me.
I have made a couple of false starts in my quest to understand and heal. I studied psychology at university for a year before realising it was the art of psychotherapy that appealed to me. I have studied reflexology, yoga, pregnancy and post-natal yoga, active birth, baby massage, sufi healing, reiki, breast feeding, tai chi and psychotherapy. I am a qualified psychotherapist and have recently completed an MA in Family, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy.
My training and experience over the years has even further fuelled my passion about increasing the awareness of the humanity and aliveness of every human baby. It is clear to me that our experience in the womb and our early childhood influence our lives profoundly. A baby is an amazingly sensitive human who needs to be cherished and disturbed as little as possible to have the opportunity to integrate the experience of living and to thrive. I feel very lucky to have met Kitty, Yehudi and Harriet with whom I am able to bounce my ideas around. Together with them, I offer you an invitation to see if our insights make sense to you.
